If you’re like most people, you’d probably be amazed to find out exactly what firefighters do behind closed doors. Because if you’re thinking sleep, checkers, T.V., or hanging out, you couldn’t be farther from the truth. In fact, due largely in part to poor fire department marketing, all the things that firefighters do, from training to maintenance, are rarely noticed or acknowledged. But a California college can help you attain the proper training and skills so you can enjoy a rewarding and challenging firefighter career.

Firefighter Duties

In addition to the catastrophic fire, firefighters perform daily maintenance on all their highly advanced equipment. They must wash their own fire vehicles because they don’t hire cleaning people like other public buildings. Additionally, firefighters require constant training, both fire and medical related, in order to maintain their current skills and learn new ones. And considering the fact that technology continues to improve at such a rapid pace, it only makes sense that firefighter training keeps up as well. This is where a California college can really help jump-start your career.

Informing Community Members About The Fire Department

Informing community members about their local fire department is extremely important since they are the ones who vote and pay taxes. But do they even know such simple things as how much it costs to outfit a firefighter in a complete set of turnouts or pay for medical equipment and supplies? Probably not. In fact, most community members have no idea what’s happening in fire departments across the country. California colleges are a great place to provide you with the education you’ll need to become a skilled firefighter and can help you enjoy a successful career.

Firefighter Career

Becoming a firefighter just might be one of the greatest decisions you’ll ever make. Not only will your work have a direct affect on the safety and security of your community, but it will also provide you with years and years of rewards and challenges beyond compare. So go ahead and make everyday a better place to be with a professional career as a firefighter and let a California college help you get there. Because in this industry, the customer really does come first!
