Do you possess a love for marine life? Have you ever thought of becoming a marine biologist? If so, you might want to consider attending one of many qualified, fully accredited California colleges. With the Pacific Ocean close at hand and world-renowned programs and degrees offered, a California college is your premier choice for some of the best training and experience throughout the nation.

Why a California College?

Not only is California home to the Monterey Bay, San Francisco, and San Diego, but it also boasts colleges that deliver marine biology courses, degrees, and internships that are truly unmatched by colleges elsewhere. And once you’ve completed your studies and hands-on training, you’ll be ready to embark upon a magnificent marine biology career that offers challenges and rewards beyond compare.

Marine Biologist Duties

As a marine biologist, you will study salt water organisms and their relationship to their environment. Much of your work will center on molecular biology, which is the study of the biochemical processes that take place inside living cells. You may decide to work in a laboratory, under a microscope, or out in the field, on a research boat or rocky beach. You may even decide to work as a diver, collecting sample specimens and data directly from the ocean waters and floor.

Marine Biology Coursework

As a prospective marine biologist, you’ll want to obtain at least a bachelor’s degree in biological or marine science program. Attending a California college can be a great advantage because of their large, well-taught departments that specialize in specific areas of biological science. Many other colleges and universities simply don’t have this luxury. Additionally, a California college can offer immediate, nearby, hands-on training in the form of day-to-day teaching, internships, co-ops, and proximal job placement.

Recently, Federal budget increases have led to the advancement of marine biology research and development efforts, which has also helped spur new and exciting job opportunities. So let a California college help provide you with the skills you’ll need to be a successful marine biologist and you too can be exploring the waters blue.
